How Much Does It Cost to Charter a Yacht in Türkiye?
By Maréa Yachts · Reviewed 13 July 2026

A crewed yacht charter in Türkiye is usually quoted as a weekly base fee for the yacht and its crew. On many yachts, variable running costs are handled separately through an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA). On top of that you may have VAT or local taxes and a customary crew gratuity. The base fee itself is driven mainly by the yacht's size, age, condition and the season.
The building blocks of a charter price
Rather than a single number, a charter cost is a small stack of components. Understanding each one makes quotes far easier to compare.
| Component | What it is | Roughly how it behaves |
|---|---|---|
| Base charter fee | Use of the yacht and crew for the period | The largest item; usually quoted per week |
| APA | A working fund for fuel, food, drinks, berthing | Often a percentage of the base fee, reconciled after the trip |
| VAT & local taxes | Applicable taxes on the charter | Varies by yacht, itinerary, flag and current rules |
| Crew gratuity | A discretionary tip for good service | Customary; amount is at the guest's discretion |
| Extras | Certain special items outside the base | Only if requested — special provisions, certain berths |
What drives the base fee
- Size and type — larger yachts and higher crew counts cost more to run.
- Age and condition — newer or recently refitted yachts typically sit at the top of their bracket.
- Season — July and August command the highest rates; shoulder months are often better value.
- Yacht category — a gulet, a sailing yacht and a modern motor yacht of similar length can price very differently.
A word on APA
APA can surprise first-time charterers because it is paid on top of the base fee and reconciled afterwards. It is not a hidden charge — it is simply how variable spending is funded and accounted for. We explain it in detail in what is APA in a yacht charter.
Questions worth asking before you book
- What exactly does the base fee include, and what sits outside it?
- What is the APA percentage, and how is it reconciled?
- How are VAT and local taxes treated for this yacht and itinerary?
